Ruth Morehouse is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified sex therapist (with Diplomat status) by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). Dr. Morehouse is a member of the American Psychological Association, and Vice-President for Professional Practice of Division 43 (Marriage and Family Therapy). She is also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the American Family Therapy Academy,and the International Family Therapy Academy.

Dr Ruth brings wealth of clinical expertise to her position as Co-Director of the Marriage and Family Health Center (MFHC).

Dr. Ruth served ten years as Director of Inpatient and Outpatient Psychological Services at a large NME/PIA inpatient/outpatient family-centered psychiatric facility in New Orleans. She developed and directed their comprehensive Women’s Program, specializing in treating severe eating disorders, sexual abuse, relationship problems and other women’s issues.

She was the principal of an alternative school for troubled adolescents and helped helped create the Women’s Depression Project serving under-privileged women in New Orleans. She co-developed and managed a company providing psychological assessment and consultation firm serving power and utility companies. She has been a consultant for government agencies and other organizations about sexual harassment, team building, leadership development, and empowering women in corporations.

Dr. Ruth conducts Crucible® Intensive Therapy sessions with couples from around the world. She is a seasoned therapist with expertise in a wide range of areas including male and female sexual difficulties, recovery from affairs, depression and anxiety, step-parenting issues, psychological trauma, sex and aging,and the impact of acute and chronic illness. Ruth co-leads the Passionate Marriage® Couples Retreats and Couples Enrichment Weekends. She created the Crucible Women’s Retreats in 1995, and has conducted them ever since.

Dr. Ruth is much sought after as a speaker and has presented at numerous international meetings. She has years of experience conducting training workshops around the world, including Singapore, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Slovenia and the Netherlands.

Ruth has a passion for social service and promoting the arts. Her recent activities include serving as board member and then as president of the Board of Directors of the Center for the Arts Evergreen. She also served on the Executive Board of Leadership Evergreen, an organization training local residents to become leaders in the community. Ruth is also an active Rotarian.
