man with therapist

When do women therapists get the chance to discuss the realities of working with men?
What female therapist hasn't had life-shaping experiences that influence how she relates to men?
Discussion topics include:
  • Power and control
  • Protecting "male ego"
  • Sexualization in the therapy office
  • Reflexive deferring to men
  • Fear of male anger
  • Confronting men
  • Personal blind spots with men
  • Anger at men
  • Opportunities for “in the chair” therapy practice
  • Good guys, bad boys, victims, and perpetrators
  • Submit your own problem case for consultation

Explore the emotional politics, sexual dynamics, and power and control issues facing female therapists today. While there has never been a better point in history to be a woman, the job for female therapists working with men has never been more complex. Participants will have opportunities to discuss professional and personal experiences and enhance their abilities to work effectively with men.
